Old Chapel Hall

Old Chapel Hall got its name as an honor to the performance hall I once wrote my first songs in.  Every song I list on here (with the exception of the first one, but that was played enough in Old Chapel to qualify) was written on the Kawai piano in Old Chapel Hall, at Freed-Hardeman University.

The first song.  This is what I originally wrote as a pop piano piece but was asked to write words to.  It took three days to perfect the words to this song.  Thanks to my college pals willing to sing harmony, the music came into its real existence Fall of '03.

This was the second song I had written.  It speaks of my birth parents.  I wrote it before I had met my birth father again, so most of it's speculation.  Now that I look back on it, I realize the accusations are better suited for my birth mom, as my birth dad really did care but was unable to keep us.

Spellbound

An original that a lot of my friends still like.  :)  I have to admit, it's my favorite piano part I've ever written....well, except maybe What Are We Waiting For...

Changed the words to this one, too.  I just couldn't remember the old ones exactly.  But this is as close as I could get.  :)

Originally titled "Tragedy," this was the the seventh song I had written.  It was written solely on imagination, and no real experience, which I felt made the words shallow.  But after losing friends, I was able to add a little more depth to the lyrics, due to understanding the pain of loss.

A Song to Fall Asleep To is a love song, pure and simple.  It was my fourth song.  I had to rewrite some of these lyrics as well, as I don't have the best memory and lost my documentation of the original words. But hey, I can truly tell my husband that I wrote this for him now!

I think this was my 10th or 11th song.  I have an idea of the original people who inspired this song...myself being the second verse, of course.  It talks about how we never act on our dreams...and there's no reason not TO act.  We just need bravery.

My 9th song.  I didn't remember all the original lyrics to this song, but I remembered the theme...and that needed to change.  So I rewrote the words a little as a love song.  Because, you know, the world can never have too many of those.  ;)  Be sure to check out the tribute to Wicked.
