There are different types of songwriting. There is personal songwriting, which tells tales of experiences, emotions, overcoming, etc. There is commercial songwriting - jingles, hits that are about subjects that are designed for the public reaction, nothing else. Both are crafts in their own right, and both require hours - days, even - to perfect. We write and then we re-write. We shelve a song and pull it out years later to completely re-design. Music is an ever-evolving journey that changes as the decades pass. Each decade brings a new experience in music, new sounds, new ideas. I love what I do, what I offer the world.
