I see the scripture there
I wonder why You even cared
Because we didn't deserve You
Why was the torch Yours to bear?

We're in shame, and waiting for your reply
To see our names written down in the Book in Life?

I know the pain, and all the hurt
Was for our broken souls endured
And we watch the Savior fall
Answering the Spirit's call
I hope that we keep humble hearts
And know that we play only parts
In our eternity
Because it's You we want to see

A cross so heavy
And the nails so deeply in
Was to show true love
And to conquer our every sin
