"About Me"
- The first song I ever learned on the piano was "Rudolph, the Red-Nose Reindeer." I was six, and learned it by ear.
- If I wasn't a songwriter, I'd probably be a chef. I feel right at home in the kitchen.
- Five of my top ten favorite movies include cooking.
- I am a percussionist, and have been since I was 11 years old. I try to use some fun percussion in the songs that I write.
- I could eat my weight in carbs. Bread, pasta, etc. YUM.
- I love art, and respect artists so much. Especially painters. I tried painting once. It did not turn out well.
- When I go into a songwriting rut, I'll visit Barnes & Noble's website, select a book title, and try to write a song about it.
- I am a member of NSAI. That's "Nashville Songwriting Association International."
- It is my dream to be nominated for a Grammy as a songwriter. I don't care if it's when I'm 80 years old. It will forever be my dream.
- I have horrific sinus issues. You can hear it when I sing.
- My style is influenced by an older era. Jim Croce, James Taylor, the Beatles, etc.
- I used to hate practicing the piano as a kid. Literally, I would throw temper tantrums on the piano bench. Scales were evil.
- I owe my talent to God and the genes from my biological parents, but I owe the pianist I am today to the parents that adopted me and tucked me into their family. They are the ones who pushed me through the training and taught me to not give up.
- My brother, Ryan, is far more musically talented than I could ever hope to be. He's a freaking musical genius.
- My greatest childhood memories include watching my grandmother and my cousin play the hell outta the piano. I still view them as some of my greatest inspiration to continue.
- I dream about flying constantly. I'm sure this alludes to some deep psychological issue, but I don't care. I just like to fly.
- I've been a poet since I was a single-digit child.
- I secretly wish for curly hair. I curled it for my wedding and it ruined me forever. I cannot accept my hair anymore.
- Favorite books will always be "The Man Who Cooked For Himself" by Phyllis Krasilovsky, followed closely by Roald Dahl's "Fantastic Mr. Fox." Don't judge.
- Another one of my dreams is to see every state of the United States.
